The Cretan Way

Discover the Cretan way of living in the Museum of Rural History and Folk Art Arolithos. Located close to Heraklion. You can admire works of Cretan handicrafts such as traditional clothing, weaving, wood carving and more. In the next hall, have a look at a representation of traditional Cretan home. Learn about agricultural occupations through the tools that farmers used to use in years past and explore a shepherd’s house called “Mitato”.
